I’m going to be hitting the trails with the mountain bike, doing some hiking and running around outside with my wife and kids. I have to rake my entire front and back yard as well, but nobdy wants to hear about that. Not even me.

So, tell us what you’ll be doing outside this spring by sending a note to bodies@livebodyproductions.com. We’d love to hear from you. Enjoy your day…

We’re happy to announce that Live Body has composed musical score and sound for the first mini downloadable audio book release from MPformance.com.

The first title in the company’s catalogue is Andrew Vachss’ “Step On A Crack.” The story was originally published in Mr. Vachss’ “Born Bad” collection, and it is performed by Ean Sheehy (CSI: Criminal Intent). The following description is from the MPformance.com website.

“For decades, Andrew Vachss has been asked: “Who would you like to play Burke on the screen?” His answer has never varied: “I’d want an open casting call, because I know there are better ‘undiscovered’ (meaning ‘unconnected’) actors out there than you’ve ever heard of. Me, I’d want the best. And I know I’d have the best chance of finding the perfect dog in a shelter than I would at an AKC show.”

MPformance is our attempt to replicate that “open casting call.” We’re selling mp3 audiofiles of performances — not “readings” — of short stories by actors you’ve never heard of … yet. Our performances are always less than a dollar. “

As additional stories and performances are selected by the MPformance team, Live Body will enhance them with music and sound. So, be sure to visit www.mpformance.com and get a copy of Step On A Crack. The MPformance launch will be covered in a variety of media, so stay tuned for information.

Geraldine is known in our circle as the “Voice of Live Body” since she appears in all of our sonic brand recordings, including the audio greeting you hear when you stop by to visit this site.

To mark this wonderful occasion, I’m going to pull out some archival audio from an interview I recorded with Geraldine earlier this year and post some clips in the Interviews page of this site. Stay tuned for details… Anthony at Live Body

Hi, all,

As you may know from previous posts on this site, Live Body composed music, sound design and did the editing for a video reading of Andrew Vachss’ novel Haiku. Because the video footage of the book’s prologue being read was not of the best quality, we got the idea to do our own take on the reading and the video. Then Lou Bank, of Ten Angry Pitbulls, had the awesome idea of using our version of the video to communicate an invitation for people to make their own videos containing a reading of Haiku’s prologue. So, enjoy our version, make your own, and buy a copy of Haiku by Andrew Vachss when it is released on 11/3/09.

Hi, all,

A week ago, I attended the AES show in New York, NY. It was a day well spent, where I spoke with people from many of the companies that make the gear we use in writing and producing our music.

Those people included, Cory Stuck of Bias, Inc., Daniel Kirk of Slate Digital, Tay from Taytrix, Scott from Waves, Angus Hewlitt from FXpansion, Kevin Bryson from Muse Research and Brad Delava of Apogee Electronics. I had great conversations with all of these folks and others who were at the show.

I also had the opportunity to try out Korg’s new generation of the Wavedrum (that thing was a LOT of fun to play!) alongside industry giants like Omar Hakim and Mino Cinelu. Mino was a particularly gracious and pleasant guy to speak with.

In addition, I also had the pleasure of speaking with Eddie Kramer, Tony Maserati and Chris Lord-Alge before and after they demonstrated the plug in bundles they designed in conjunction with the folks at Waves.

For me, there’s nothing like getting out there and engaging people directly about what we do and how we can help each other ply our respective crafts more beautifully and effectively. I’m looking forward to getting out to industry events more frequently in 2010. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day to the fullest…

Anthony at Live Body
