Live Body at the AES 127th Convention in New York City

Hi, all,

A week ago, I attended the AES show in New York, NY. It was a day well spent, where I spoke with people from many of the companies that make the gear we use in writing and producing our music.

Those people included, Cory Stuck of Bias, Inc., Daniel Kirk of Slate Digital, Tay from Taytrix, Scott from Waves, Angus Hewlitt from FXpansion, Kevin Bryson from Muse Research and Brad Delava of Apogee Electronics. I had great conversations with all of these folks and others who were at the show.

I also had the opportunity to try out Korg’s new generation of the Wavedrum (that thing was a LOT of fun to play!) alongside industry giants like Omar Hakim and Mino Cinelu. Mino was a particularly gracious and pleasant guy to speak with.

In addition, I also had the pleasure of speaking with Eddie Kramer, Tony Maserati and Chris Lord-Alge before and after they demonstrated the plug in bundles they designed in conjunction with the folks at Waves.

For me, there’s nothing like getting out there and engaging people directly about what we do and how we can help each other ply our respective crafts more beautifully and effectively. I’m looking forward to getting out to industry events more frequently in 2010. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day to the fullest…
